Reverend Claire Holt (Priest in charge)

Claire Holt

Introducing myself

Welcome to St Peter’s Church Ash. I am the Priest-in-charge here (although it is easier to say vicar!) having started in September this year. However, I am not new to the area as I have been vicar at St Paul’s Tongham since 2012 and have got to know the parish in Ash over many years! It has been lovely to start my new ministry, and I am excited to see how God leads us in the years to come.

I am busy with both of the 2 churches: visiting the local schools, preparing services, pastoral visiting, sorting out issues that come up, and many meetings (I don’t just work on Sundays!). And I keep busy with family and friends too. I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. I enjoy walking, running and being outside – and have a passion for caring for the world around us, so I am pleased that both churches are part of the Ecochurch scheme. I also enjoy knitting and cooking.

There is a great team here at St Peter’s, with people getting involved in lots of different ways – and there is always a place for someone new too. We love to welcome all ages to join us, including supporting those who are getting older and encouraging our children and young people as we form a church family at the heart of the community.
